Why I started SOMatiq Life
Almost everyone knows they should eat better, exercise more, sleep longer, and reduce stress. The problem isn’t a lack of information.
Today, we have unlimited access to health advice through books, podcasts, YouTube, social media, and AI. Yet obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and burnout continue to rise. Most of us don’t need another article telling us what to do. We need help figuring out what actually works for our own lives. I’ve experienced this struggle firsthand.
For nearly twenty years, I’ve been fascinated by health, nutrition, fitness, and human behavior. I’ve read countless books and research papers, followed experts, and experimented with different diets, workout programs, and lifestyle trends. Like many people, I often started with enthusiasm but found it difficult to sustain changes once work, family, travel, and everyday responsibilities took priority.
As a husband, father of two, and full-time professional, I realized something important: the biggest challenge wasn’t knowing what to do, it was consistently doing it. Over time, I stopped chasing perfect diets and exercise plans. Instead, I focused on making small, manageable improvements that fit naturally into my daily life. Rather than trying to change everything at once, I continually refined my habits, learning what worked for me and what didn’t. Those small changes accumulated into meaningful results. I became leaner, stronger, healthier, and more consistent, not because I found a miracle program, but because I built habits I could actually sustain.
That experience became the foundation for the Stabilize, Optimize, Maximize (SOM) framework. SOM is built on a simple idea: lasting health comes from building habits that fit your life, not from forcing your life to fit someone else’s program. By first establishing consistent routines, then making small, personalized improvements, and finally building on those successes, meaningful change becomes both achievable and sustainable. I created SOMatiq Life to help others do the same.
Because lasting health isn’t about finding the perfect plan. It’s about building the right habits. For you.
1. Somatic = Derived from the Greek word soma, meaning the body, “somatic” refers to physical health and well-being. It reminds us that lasting health begins with caring for the body through everyday habits.
2. SOM = Our Stabilize, Optimize, Maximize framework provides a simple, structured path for building sustainable habits that improve health over time.
3. IQ = The “iq” in SOMatiq represents intelligence, not just knowledge, but making informed decisions based on your own goals, lifestyle, and experiences. We believe the smartest health plan is the one that works for you.
4. Life = Health is about much more than exercise or nutrition. It’s about having the energy, strength, confidence, and well-being to fully enjoy your life, your family, your work, and the experiences that matter most.
SOMatiq Life is built on a simple belief.
Lasting health isn’t achieved by following someone else’s plan. It’s built by creating habits that fit your own life.
